AUCTION DETAILS:
Anyone can attend! Members, non-members, players or non-players it doesn't matter. Anyone can take part in the auction and bid on a player.
Details:
- We will start at 6:30pm at the clubhouse with details and intro. Hopefully we will get to auctioning off players at 6:45ish. Auction should take about an hour.
- A short description of the players, including their handicap rating, will be given before the bidding starts. Starting bids will be $10. If your player comes in the top 3, successful bidder gets 60% and player gets 40% of the applicable pot to placement. Pot distribution: 1st place 60%, 2nd place 25% and 3rd 15 % of the total pot.
- Successful bidders must pay their $$ before the end of the auction. If paying through e-transfer (payments@nelsontennisclub.com), it must be sent before the end of the auction as the cash will be paid out the next day.
- Punch will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own beverages or snacks.
- After the auction, we will do a quick sign-up for a one-point slam on court 3 & 4. You do not have to be a registered player to take part. Its for fun and for your champions show their stuff!

This is our first ever Aces & Odds Singles Tourney. If all goes well, who knows! Maybe we do it again!
Do you LOVE tennis?? Do you LOVE winning Money??? Singles Play BUT.....there's a catch...for those who do not always venture into the Single tennis world, this one is special. YOU GET A HANDICAP.... level the playing field and compete against even the toughest opponent with the odds in your favour!......Format is a One 10 point tie break. That's it!
Basically, players register, they are given a handicap, we auction the players off to the highest bidder the evening before matches and then we let er rip! Winners get the $$$!!
Player Auction - Friday Night 6:30 pm - At the clubhouse. Quick One-Point Slam afterward to spice things up! Sign up for this is after the auction. BYODrinkeroos!
Matches - Saturday 9am till whenever (estimated end time is approximately 2pm)
- Not just for players! Bring your friends, family, enemies, neighbours, neighbours who are enemies, your acupuncturist, person you met on the street (it's Nelson!)....Anyone can buy a player at the auction. You can even group together! Yes players can buy each other ;) No sandbagging! We're watching.
- Players are auctioned off to the highest bidder. (Players are not required to attend the auction if not desired)
- Players are given an applicable handicap according to their abilities to even the Odds!
- Top 3 winners make moola! 60/25/15 %
- Successful bidder gets 60% and player gets 40% of their pot.
Format:
- double knock out so you can fight your way back!
- One 10 point tie break. Easy peasy! Must win by 2.
- One serve only. No second serve.

- Open to members only - must be a member as of July and played at least twice within club
